Biography

"Cute" and "adorable" are strange words to associate with such a powerhouse of a band, but the Subways have gotten as much attention for their dewy youthfulness as for their tough, smart punk/pop. The U.K. trio were just out of their teens when they recorded their first bedroom tracks, but Internet word-of-mouth and an appearance at the 2004 Glastonbury Festival guaranteed a record deal and the band's subsequent success. Their 2006 debut album on Sire was roundly praised for its hooky charms.
