Dead Confederate mixes a post-grunge sound with psychedelic and Southern rock leanings.
Formed in Atlanta, Georgia, during 2007, Dead Confederate draws inspiration from the heavier side of the alternative rock canon, with Nirvana a clear touchstone, particularly in the vocals of singer/guitarist Hardy Morris. Not a group to be easily pigeonholed, however, Dead Confederate adds an appropriate Southern rock flair to the mix, along with a vintage Pink Floyd dark dreaminess, resulting in an intriguing sound that is well showcased on its accomplished full-length debut, WRECKING BALL.
