Toronto's the Sadies seamlessly meld surf guitar, traditional country, film-score stylings, and bar-band bluster.
Nearly a musical parlor trick in their ability to seamlessly meld surf guitar, traditional country, film-score stylings, and bar-band bluster, Toronto's The Sadies are one of the most unique and talented ensembles in the new-millennial underground. Functioning as something of a house band for the alt-country community, the Sadies have provided backing for, among others, Neko Case and the Mekons' Jon Langford. In 2006, the band scored the soundtrack for the film TALES OF THE RAT FINK, a documentary about hot-rod cartoonist Ed "Big Daddy" Roth.
