So-Cal group found stardom blending punk, reggae, hip-hop, and folk. The party ended following the death of beloved frontman Bradly Nowell.
Long Beach County skate-rockers Sublime played an infectious mix of ska, punk, hip-hop, and acoustic music that earned them both a devoted underground following and mainstream success during their run in the mid-1990s. Sublime were proud purveyors of the good times, and in 1996 the good times would prove to be the band's demise when lead singer and founding member Bradley Nowell died of a heroin overdose. The band's two remaining members continued on as the Long Beach Dub Allstars.
