Four neo-punk/pop upstarts from Toronto feasted on three-chord melodies and youthful exuberance in the '00s.
Sum 41's blathering mixture of punk-pop riffing, hip-hop poses, and toilet-bowl humor landed the Ontario-based act a deal with Island in 1999, resulting in the Half Hour of Power EP and the fun-filled full-length All Killer No Filler. Singles "In Too Deep" and "Fat Lip" became staples of both modern rock radio, and an extensive tour followed. In 2002, they returned with Does This Look Infected?, followed by 2004's slightly more mature and serious effort, Chuck, and Underclass Hero in 2007. ~ Johnny Loftus
