Patti Austin

Spanning the worlds of pop, R&B, and jazz, Patti Austin is one of the most eclectic and commanding vocalists of her generation.

Biography

Although she began her career as a session musician and jingle singer in the 1960s and started releasing solo albums with 1976's jazz-oriented END OF A RAINBOW, Patti Austin's commercial breakthrough occurred in the early 1980s with pop hits like "Do You Love Me?" and "Baby Come To Me," a classic duet with James Ingram. Moving easily between pop, jazz, and R&B in the company of collaborators like Quincy Jones and George Benson, Austin has had a varied career that has ranged from soundtrack appearances to 2008's Grammy-winning jazz vocal album AVANT GERSHWIN.
