Leftfield

Influential UK progressive house act, emerging from the mid-90s.

Biography

Leftfield consists of Paul Daley and Neil Barnes, two London percussionists-turned-DJs who tore up London's underground "progressive house" scene in the late '80s and early '90s with their early singles. In 1995 they released LEFTISM, which has been hailed as no less than the greatest dance record of all time. In the ensuing years, the duo were much sought-after as remix artists, offering their talents to the likes of Bowie and U2. The long-awaited RHYTHM & STEALTH (1999) proved that some things are worth waiting for.
