Squeeze

One of the greatest new wave bands, Squeeze were a classic British pop group distinguished by the songwriting of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook.

Biography

Squeeze first came to fame as part of the late-1970s/early-'80s British new wave influx. Their songwriting skills immediately set them apart from the crowd, with Chris Difford and Glen Tillbrook drawing comparisons to Lennon and McCartney. 1980 single "Tempted," while not a huge hit in any country, was an early MTV staple and would become one of the more recognizable songs of the decade. Though the personnel has shifted over the years, Difford and Tillbrook continue to steer the group's remarkably consistent course.
