A protégé of Jay-Z and member of the Roc-A-Fella family, Memphis Bleek is highly regarded for his high-pitched flow and street-life vignettes.
Bed Stuy born and bred, Memphis Bleek first appeared on Jay-Z’s classic debut on “Coming of Age,” a track that has defined his career. Since that appearance, Bleek has been Jay’s protege, releasing solo albums on Roc-A-Fella Records and achieving his own commercial viability and regard for his high-pitched flow and street-life vignettes. Fulfilling the promise made on that cut of the same name, Memphis Bleek’s debut, COMING OF AGE, appeared in 1999, with Bleek personifying the junior version of Jay--a young street-corner hustler with aspirations to music-industry riches.
