Don's son, Neneh's brother, mellow pop singer-songwriter scored major hit with 1998's "Save Tonight."
Although his heritage as Don Cherry's son and Neneh Cherry's brother inevitably comes up in biographies, Eagle-Eye Cherry has notably carved out a sound for himself that bears little resemblance to that of his kin. His 1998 debut combined folk, jazz, and pop elements, on mellow songs with subtly expressive vocals that provided a nice, crunchy alternative to the boy bands that dominated the charts at the time. "Save Tonight" became one of the decade's biggest hits. Its follow-up reflected some funk and blues influences, and the singer-songwriter has continued to expand his stylistic repertoire while honing his craft. Possessed of exotic good looks, Cherry has also taken a turn at acting, appearing in several TV shows and films.
