Crowded House

Gentle, fluttering, timeless pop, perhaps the greatest (and easily most commercially successful) of Neil Finn's many projects.

Biography

Former Split Enz songwriter, Neil Finn, decamped to Los Angeles in 1986, with his new band Crowded House. Their self-titled debut, released to little fanfare, spawned the US Chart hits, ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ (number 2) and ‘Something So Strong’ (number 7). After an acclaimed but poor-selling follow-up, Temple Of Low Men, Finn reconciled with his brother, (and former Split Enz bandmate) Tim. The pair collaborated on the album, Woodface, which produced the sublime UK Top 20 hit ‘Fall At Your Feet’, and the infectious ‘Weather With You’, (UK number 7), although the album fared poorly in the USA. After Together Alone, Neil Finn split the band to concentrate on solo projects, before reuniting for Time On Earth, in 2007.
