BoDeans

Best known for their catchy single “Closer to Free,” [roviLink="MN0000047789"]the BoDeans won over a huge Midwestern following in the late 1980s and early ‘90s with their accessible adult alternative sound.

Biography

One of the leading lights in the Midwestern roots-rock/adult-contemporary scene, the BoDeans had their heyday in the late 1980s and early ‘90s. Fronted by singer/guitarists Kurt Neumann and Sam Llanas, the group gained national attention with the sunny anthem “Closer to Free,” a tune selected as the theme song of the popular PARTY OF FIVE TV series. Although the Wisconsin-based ensemble disbanded during the late ‘90s in order for Neumann and Llanas to pursue solo careers, they reconvened for 2004’s RESOLUTION.
