Highly successful rapcore band, with their born-again Christian faith central to their music.
Throughout the 1990s, San Diego's P.O.D. played countless shows across the nation and sold more than 40,000 copies of three EPs -- Brown, Snuff the Punk, and [roviLink="MW"]Live -- on their own Rescue Records. Atlantic signed them in 1998. The Warriors EP preceded the major-label debut of P.O.D.'s 1999 release, The Fundamental Elements of Southtown. "Southtown" and "Rock the Party (Off the Hook)" were powerful singles, pushing the album to platinum. A second album for Atlantic, 2001's Satellite, exploded later that year, along with P.O.D.'s stature. Payable on Death (2003), Testify (2006), and When Angels and Serpents Dance (2008) followed. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
