Biography

The Animal Collective won over a sizable audience in the mid 2000s despite its seemingly inaccessible brand of fractured, experimental folk. Although the Brooklyn-based Collective's music isn't exactly mainstream and can, at times, be quite difficult, its undeniable melodies (almost childlike in their catchiness) are impossible to dismiss. Via their own Paw Tracks label, they released the critically lauded FEELS in 2005, and each subsequent album seemed to increase their mainstream profile while further solidifying their indie fanbase.
