Dr. Dre’s younger half-brother, icon of gangsta rap in his own right, scored 1994 megahit "Regulate."
Born at the turn of the ’70s and weaned on the soul and funk of the era, Warren Griffin III quickly honed his musical skills as part of the hip-hop group 213 with friends Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg. Following some skirmishes with the law, all three found time in the spotlight when G’s half-brother, Dr. Dre, discovered solo stardom with THE CHRONIC. After producing for the likes of 2Pac, G found individual success behind the mic thanks to the massive smash “Regulate” off the same-titled album, which featured Nate Dogg as well. G has continued to churn out the occasional LP, although he has yet to attain the platinum-selling success of his debut.
