Founding member of legendary jam band Phish and a reputable solo artist in his own right.
Trey Anastasio first found fame as the guitarist and leading light of Phish, a pioneering outfit in the improvisational jam band genre of the 1990s. Besides composing extensively for the band, Anastasio also found time to participate in a variety of extracurricular projects, including the 1996 album SURRENDER TO THE AIR, which found him indulging his avant-garde leanings, and the rock-based Oysterhead, in 2000. After Phish’s disbandment in 2004, Anastasio’s music took a pop-oriented direction with his band 70 Volt Parade, which featured concise, structured songs performed in a more traditional pop-rock style.
