Former Soft Cell frontman; he has since had a prolific solo career, with a variety of covers and original material.
After practically creating the synth-pop template with his 1980s duo Soft Cell, Marc Almond has continued to restlessly pursue his vision as a solo artist, exploring various facets of the pop idiom, including torchy cabaret, Russian ballads, and collaborations with a variety of artists such as '50s crooner Gene Pitney and Nico. The thread throughout is a wry sense of humor, a gift for subtle drama, and fondness for melodies that stick. In 2004 Almond was seriously injured in a motorbike crash, but made a welcome return with STARDOM ROAD in 2007.
