Biography

Scottish ensemble Arab Strap are one of the few U.K. indie-rock acts to have embraced the American slowcore genre pioneered by bands like Slint and Codeine. The band's wry low-key dirges concern the cornerstones of the working-class malaise: sex, drugs, and the pub. Though Arab Strap have a distinct, fully formed sound, the band remains mercurial and artistically challenging, making for a true pop music curiosity.
