Biography

Fusing the groove of James Brown's backing band with the edginess of Gang of Four and the Contortions, !!! spent their first few years developing their sound and playing at house parties for friends in Sacramento. After extensive touring of the States, !!! recorded and released a self-titled album on GSL in December 2000. Soon after, the band reentered the studio and recorded enough material for a second album. In 2003, !!! issued Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story), their first release for Touch and Go. The band followed it with 2004's politically charged Louden Up Now (mixed by Maurice Fulton) and 2007's relatively lighthearted Myth Takes. ~ Josh Eppert
