Biography

Singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb sprang to fame in 1994 when friend, actor Ethan Hawke, persuaded the producers of the film REALITY BITES to use her song "Stay (I Missed You)" as its theme. The result was a U.S. chart-topper before Loeb had even signed a recording contract. Geffen Records won the ensuing bidding war and released TAILS in 1995. Loeb’s follow-up, FIRECRACKER, included the minor hit "I Do," but proved less popular than her debut. After signing to A&M Records for the lacklustre CAKE AND PIE, Loeb revamped the album and released it as HELLO LISA (2003) for indie label Artemis Records. In 2004 she signed to Zoë, a subsidiary of Rounder Records, and released the critically well-received THE WAY IT REALLY IS.
