A master of jazz piano; he has had an extraordinary career both as a session musician and an artist in his own right.
A successful studio musician in the 1950s and the creator of the semi-novelty synth-jazz hit "The Minotaur" in '69, Dick Hyman is most recently known for the softly rippling piano music that provides the jazzy soul of several Woody Allen films, including STARDUST MEMORIES and ZELIG. He has also recorded extensively with jazz trumpeter Ruby Braff, and has worked as the artistic director of the popular "Jazz In July" concert series at the 92 Street Y in New York.
