Featuring Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule are equal parts jam band and blues-rock power trio.
The founders of Gov't Mule -- guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody -- should be well known to Southern rock fans for joining the Allman Brothers' lineup in 1989. Five years later, the duo launched Gov't Mule as their own side project, combining the Allman Brothers' influence with the psychedelic, bluesy, power trio feel of Cream. Although Woody unexpectedly died in 2000, the jam band continued to issue live albums and studio efforts into the early 21st century, including Deepest End: Live in Concert, Déjà Voodoo, and the two-volume Benefit Concert series. ~ John Bush
