A popular singer of tearful ballads and jaunty up-tempo numbers; one of the most successful artists of the 1950s and '60s.
A popular singer of tearful ballads and jaunty up-tempo numbers, Connie Francis was one of the most successful female artists of the 1950s and '60s. She released a string of hits, including the classics "Who’s Sorry Now," "Stupid Cupid" and "Lipstick On Your Collar." Making her film debut with 1960's WHERE THE BOYS ARE, Francis appeared in numerous frothy comedy musicals throughout the decade. She was nudged from the spotlight by Beatlemania and all that followed it, and took a hiatus from the music business for several years in the 1970s. However, she has remained a popular live attraction around the world since her 1980s comeback, and was releasing albums into the 2000s.
