Slash

Biography

As the lead guitarist for Guns N' Roses, Slash established himself as one of hard rock's finest and most soulful soloists during the late '80s, technically adept yet always firmly grounded in the gritty Aerosmith and Stones licks he loved. After GNR's 1993 album The Spaghetti Incident?, Slash formed the on-again/off-again side project Slash's Snakepit (which released 1995's It's Five O'Clock Somewhere and 1999's Ain't Life Grand), joined the successful hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver (whose debut, 2004's Contraband, topped the Billboard 200), and released a self-titled 2010 solo album that featured Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lemmy, among others. ~ Steve Huey
