Biography

Formed in 1993, Sister Hazel is an acoustic jangle pop band based in Gainesville, Florida. The group released an eponymous debut in 1994 before moving to the majors for 1997's Somewhere More Familiar. "All for You" topped the adult alternative charts that summer; its success pushed the album to gold sales status. 2000's Fortress scored a minor radio hit with the song "Change Your Mind." Chasing Daylight (2003), Lift (2004), and Absolutely (2006) followed, and despite their absence from the airwaves, the group continued to cultivate a respectable grassroots following. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
