Biography

After dabbling in R&B while a student in Dublin as a member of the Kult, Paul Brady made an abrupt 180-degree turn, embracing old school Irish folk when he joined the seminal band Planxty. After debuting as a solo act with the much-lauded traditional folk set WELCOME HERE KIND STRANGER in 1978, he changed tack again, switching to traditional driving rock with the best-selling 1981 LP HARD STATION, which included the Irish smash single "Crazy Dreams." Brady cultivated an electric live show, and tours with Dire Straits and Eric Clapton furthered his fame. Jis sound matured and flowered over the decades and a cult following slowly built.
