Seattle MC, best known for #1 crossover hit "Baby Come Back," actually had a respectably varied career.
If you know anything about Seattle rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot you know that he "likes big butts" because as he himself states he "can not lie." The 1992 single "Baby Got Back," on which these declarations were made, is certainly Sir Mix-A-Lot's most well-known song; a Billboard pop number one, it also garnered the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. Mix-A-Lot, however, shouldn't be thought of as simply a one-hit wonder, as he released a number of cult and underground classics in the late 1980s, including "Buttermilk Biscuits," "Square Dance Rap," and "Posse's on Broadway." He collaborated with the Seattle pop band the Presidents of the United States of America as Subset in the late '90s.
