Pat Travers

Canadian blues-orientated guitarist and songwriter, active since the mid-70s.

Biography

Canadian guitarist Pat Travers began his career playing in his brother’s band; but after a move to England in the '70s, he left his sibling well in the dust, releasing a self-title album with his own eponymously named band and playing the 1976 Reading Rock Festival. A new line-up was assembled for 1978’s excellent HEAT IN THE STREET, establishing a precedent that would mark the continued existence of the Pat Travers Band. Though always the main focus of any group he assembled, Travers amassed an assortment of top-notch sessions players over the years, and continued to release albums filled with his own technically dazzling, high-octane take on hard rock and the blues. In the early 2000s, he formed the P.T. Power Trio and solidified his place on the classic rock nostalgia circuit.
