Drummer-turned-solo-artist best known for playing with the dB’s.
Will Rigby started out as the drummer for late-1970s North Carolina power-poppers Sneakers, following that band’s Chris Stamey to the dB’s in the ‘80s. He released a solo album in 1985, displaying an alt-country sensibility before such sounds were fashionable. After the dB’s split up, Rigby drummed with Matthew Sweet, Mojo Nixon, and many others, eventually becoming Steve Earle’s main skinsman. His ex-wife, Amy Rigby, launched a solo career in the ‘90s, and Will Rigby finally released a second solo album in 2002.
